Judge-less

A good friend and colleague recently shared her practice of choosing a word each year that helps to focus her energy and keep her thinking about her mission and purpose. (This idea comes from Jon Gordon, who describes it here.)

This topic came up because a new word for this year had occurred to her during her morning walk. (There are a lot of words that come my mind to describe 2020, but I digress.)

The word that emerged for her was “judge-less.” Literally, of course, this means “without a judge,” like “The courtroom couldn’t be called to order because it was judgeless.”

But her take on this word was much broader. Its appeal to her was in both its literal sense, of not having a judge, and also as a reminder to participate in the act of judging less in her daily life.

Judge-less
. What might that mean for you?
